Romancing the Michener

George Sotter (1879-1953), Silent Night, ca. 1932, oil on canvas, H. 36 x W. 40 inches, Collection of Louis E. and Carol A. Della Penna.

What could be more romantic this Valentine’s week than taking your sweetie to see Painterly Voice at the Michener Art Museum? Combine it with a drive through beautiful Bucks County, dine at one of Doylestown’s fine restaurants and continue the evening by the crackling fire at an area B&B.

Or maybe it’s a first date. Museums are affordable places with walls lined with conversation starters. And wouldn’t it be nice to tell your grandchildren how you fell in love while looking at George Sotter’s “Silent Night”?

The Michener is just the right size to spend time with a loved one, and if you get hungry, James at the Michener, the museum cafe, can satisfy. Still want to give more to your loved one? Choose from many books, jewelry and accessories in the museum shop. Want to give even more? Consider a gift membership to the museum.
